Basic introduction of suspension clamps

Suspension clip is the hardware that hangs the conductor (ground) wire on the pendant insulator string (group) or hardware string (group). The common stereotyped product of the suspension clamp, now retains the U-bolt type (usually called the boat-type clamp), which is composed of a hanger U-bolt, a clamp shell made of malleable iron, and a pressure plate. The other is a pre-twisted suspension clamp. Suspended wire clips are used to fasten conductors to insulator strings on straight towers, or to hang lightning rods on straight towers. It can also be used to fix the transposed conductor and the jumper of the tensile corner tower on the transposed tower.
Now widely used in China, it is characterized by convenient and quick installation. Here is the introduction:
(1) Old-fashioned boat clip
This clip can also be used as a lightning rod. It can bear the installation load of the wire within the vertical span. When the line is running normally or broken, the wire clip is not allowed to slide or separate from the insulator string. The bearing pressure of towers using such intermediate fixtures is high.
(2) Pre-twisted suspension clamps
Function and use: used to connect ADSS optical cable, OPGW optical cable, various wires in straight towers, etc. The combination of inner and outer helical pre-twisted wires can well protect the optical cable without generating concentrated stress, avoiding bending stress, and protecting the optical cable and assisting vibration reduction. The complete set of suspension clamps includes: inner and outer layers of pre-twisted wires, hanging heads, and supporting connecting hardware. The clamping strength is greater than 10%-20% of the rated tensile strength of the optical cable, which is convenient for installation.
Suspended clamps include hangers, U-screws and hull.
There is a limit to the maximum deflection angle of the suspension clamp. When the hull is turned to a certain angle, the U-screw is blocked by the hanger. The maximum deflection angle is also a safe operating condition. The maximum deflection angle is not only related to the suspension angle of the wire or ground wire on both sides of the tower suspension point, but also related to the diameter of the wire and the ground wire (the outer diameter of the wire should include the thickness of the wrapped aluminum tape or the diameter of the protective wire). The larger the diameter, the more the U-shaped screw moves upwards and the smaller the maximum deflection angle. If it is greater than the maximum declination angle, measures should be taken, such as replacing the double wire clamp, adjusting the height of the tower or designing a new wire clamp.
